A group of residents of Auroville wrote a petition to call for a General Meeting of the Residents Assembly (RA), the petition’s aim is to “stop all development on the Crown until further notice from the RA”. Hundreds of Aurovilians came to the meeting as well as the Secretary of the Auroville Foundation, Dr. Jayanti Ravi. The Secretary expressed the wish to address the audience for 10 minutes and to reply to questions if any. Part of the crowd refused and started to disrespectfully shout and jeer at the Secretary. The Secretary patiently waited for 45 minutes to be finally allowed to address the audience for 10 minutes, inviting all Aurovilians to collaborate in building the city.
